While best known for Billboard dance hits “Sunrise”, “Ocean Drive” and remake of Roxy Music’s “More Than This”, Madison Park is downtempo duo, DeAnna and James Cool (yes, “Cool” is their real last name). The duo stormed onto the scene with their first Single ,“My Personal Moon”, quickly hitting the Billboard Sales Chart causing the release of their debut CD, Boutique, to be released earlier than planned. This was March, 2004.
With the release of Boutique came new opportunities as Madison Park continued to garner new fans. Tower Records, Virgin Mega-Stores, and Best Buy were essential music destinations and each retailer embraced the CD, with the help of distributor Red/SONY providing exceptional exposure to Madison Park. So much so a publishing deal with Bug Music (now BMG/Chrysalis) came out of charting success seen in the Tower New York stores. Boutique became “the Most Added Album to College Radio the week of its release”. Several tracks from Boutique received placement on all Dell computers at the time as well as the Apple iPod and Garnier Fructis website.
The sophomore album, In the Stars, was released June, 2006. MTV NewNowNext stated “Madison Park’s In the Star’s is a pop-flavored treat. Give ’em a spin!” As a “Top 10” iTunes Dance Album for multiple weeks, In the Stars produced more Billboard hits such as “I’m Listening” (also making the Billboard Sales chart) and “More Than This”, which became the second most-played internet dance track for 16 consecutive weeks following Kaskade’s “Steppin’ Out”. Madison Park performed at Sunfest 2006 and held several Tower in-store performances to promote the album.
December 9, 2008 marked the release of Madison Park’s third album, Another Yesterday. Again, substantial radio hits came from the album including title track “Another Yesterday” and “Come Out And Play”. Later that year Madison Park’s remix of Nina Simone’s “The Look of Love” was placed in the film Sex and the City and the film’s soundtrack. With the launch of a new remix contest through Peace Love Productions Acid Remix they met Dutch dance producer, Beechkraft, for his winning remix of “Another Yesterday”. Madison Park and Beechkraft went on to produce several Singles together including Billboard Club/Play charter “Sunrise”.
In between full-length CD’s, Madison Park released various Singles and executive-produced four volumes of New Sound Theory, as well as other a variety of other projects.
In 2015 came MIX. This album was a collaboration between Madison Park and Beechkraft including a remake of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”. The first Single from MIX was “Parts of Me” which appeared on the World Chill Lounge Charts for 16 weeks. A remix package for “Parts of Me” was released May 2016 and a music video for the track was shot in Alaska. The next single from MIX was “Closer” which achieved break-out #4 on Billboard Dance Charts and gained strong radio support from major markets.
January 20, 2017 Madison Park released “Don’t Let Go”. This new Single was referred to as ‘Madison Park going back to their roots”. With strong radio support from a variety of radio formats, something Madison Park tends to do is cross genres with the same song, therefore reaching a wider audience. Again a remix package hit and a video was shot in locations Puerto Rico and Toronto. Like all Madison Park videos the video was distributed through Promo Only, Inc as well as music distributor, The Orchard.
December 1, 2017 Madison Park teamed up with UK-based artist, Groovecatcher, to remake Real Life’s classic “Send Me An Angel”. Remixes for “Send Me An Angel” was released June 8, 2018 reaching an entirely new set of DJ’s and Radio Hosts eagerly supporting the Single, and in particular the Jan Areno Remixes. For many it was considered to be the “hit of the summer”.
September 20, 2019 Madison Park teamed up again with Groovecatcher to produce the Hypnotise Me EP. The EP also included “Scintillating” and “Calling & Calling”. Both “Hypnotise Me” and “Calling & Calling” appeared on a George V Cafe compilation prior to the release by Madison Park in 2017.
As of September 2020, the duo has released a new Single “Sensual” along with a remix package for the track. An official lyric video for the Original mix was released October 12th. While working this new Single to Radio, Madison Park is back in the studio once again so be sure to stay tuned for more.
